Now off to the topic at hand.

Now that we have the FICO system, credit repair is ineffective at best. Credit repair is a technique or program used to correct or enhance one credit profile based on time an obsolete strategy and basic form letters. Because these methodologies and form letters correspond to the previous credit system their ability to get reliable results in the new credit system is greatly diminished. In fact, most companies who are in the credit repair business will state on their contracts that their system could take anywhere from 1-3 years to affect positive change on your credit report. We on the other hand affect positive change in the first 30-45 days after enrollment. This is how credit repair works:

  1. Dispute all negative information on your credit report regardless of if they are accurate or not.
  2. The credit bureau is then required by law to investigate each and every item by sending a dispute verification letter to the creditor.
  3. The credit bureau sends a verification notice to the subscriber.
  4. The subscriber has 2 weeks to respond to the notice.
  5. If the subscriber verifies the disputed item, then the credit bureau informs the consumer and the item remains on the credit report
  6. If the subscriber fails to verify the item within a timely fashion the credit bureau is required to delete that item within a 30 day time frame and notify the consumer of its results
  7. For all items verified that remains on your credit report the person or persons doing the credit repair simply disputes the same item again using the same form letters
  8. The credit bureau is required to reinvestigate the item again.
  9. If the subscriber verifies the disputed item again then the credit bureau informs the consumer, and the item remains on the credit report
  10. If the subscriber fails to re-verify the item within a timely fashion the credit bureau is required to delete that item within a 30 day time frame and notify the consumer of its results. If the creditor responds sometime in the future, then the item is placed back on the credit report. This is called “reinsertion”.
  11. For all items verified the person or persons doing the credit repair simply disputes the item again and again using those same letters.
  12. The credit bureau is required to reinvestigate the item again and again
  13. This cycle of dispute and verification would continue until the credit repair organization gives up, goes out of business or you stop calling them.
  14. Each successive dispute sometimes still results in a deletion because in some instances the subscriber would think that the barrages of investigation request were received in error. Because they believe that the dispute verification was received in error, they never respond to the credit bureau and therefore by law that item must be deleted because it is now unverifiable. Even though the subscribers had previously verified the item. Some subscribers would get weary of the constant verification and simply refuse to re-verify. Again, because they refuse to re-verify, it would generate a deletion. The only problem with this strategy is that the items usually reappear on your credit. So, at best credit repair has always been just a temporary fix.

Unfortunately, for all those still left in the credit repair business, this system is no longer effective. That is why most people will spend a small fortune trying to repair their credit with no apparent success. They will stumble from company to company looking for someone to repair their credit. Some of these companies have good intentions, however they simply don’t have the tools necessary to complete the task. Most of these companies don’t even know that we are in the “FICO Credit Scoring System”. They are still using outdated techniques that have minimal effectiveness. Even if they knew that we were in the FICO credit scoring system they would still be powerless to effect positive change because they are unable to get a FICO-R certification. With a FICO-R certification they would be able to decipher the current credit scoring system and they would possess the skill set necessary to provide the services that they purport to offer. The problem with FICO-R certification is that there are so few instructors who are qualified to teach this set of course work. This is primarily due to the secrecy surrounding the FICO system. Also, it has to do with the apathy of the general public who don’t demand FICO-R certification. Now let’s look at the alternative to credit repair. In this new FICO-based system in order to affect positive change in your credit score you will require Strategic Credit Restoration and Development. There are some very fundamental differences in the two processes.

  1. SCRD demands a customized approach to credit restoration. No longer will the credit bureaus allow you to simply send in multiple disputes of the same item. Once they have verified the item twice then they will mark your dispute as frivolous and simply refuse to reinvestigate that item. Even worse you run the risk of them closing your file and not responding to any future disputes. The credit bureaus constantly upgrade their software to make it progressively harder to restore your credit once it has been damaged. Therefore, the most you can simply dispute an item is three times. If it doesn’t fall off in three disputes, then you will need a better strategy. Even worse because some companies overuse their dispute letters so much the credit bureaus will red flag some disputes instantly just because they came from a known credit repair company. Some large-scale credit repair law firms try to avoid this problem by only disputing one item at a time. Because this process is long and cumbersome for the client the credit bureaus don’t shut them down. Most people simply get tired of this process and quit long before they get any positive results.
  2. SCRD uses strategic approaches in addition to the dispute process to generate discernable results. Every type of derogatory item has a discernable technique to have that item removed. These techniques differ according to the type of item and the length of time it has been on your credit report. We will identify the proper strategic approach to remove these items from your credit report and employ a unique strategy based on our analysis of your credit report. Once you have disputed the item twice, you must offer the credit bureau some confirming documentation to support your dispute. The art of credit restoration is the art of developing confirming documentation. This skill takes an individual who can think outside of the box. We use powerful administrative and legal remedies once the dispute process fails. We are experts in developing strategies to create confirming documentation.
  3. Because SCRD requires some legal and administrative remedies it is also a very effective means of debt elimination. Why file bankruptcy or pay 50% of debts that only require the proper elimination strategy. Also, because this is an aggressive approach to credit restoration and not a passive letter writing campaign the results happen very quickly. In fact, if you can’t get your credit restored in 90 days or less this year then it probably will never happen. Because the economy is so bad the President and Congress has enacted legislature to help you eliminated debt and restore your credit today, so that you can buy houses and cars which is the only way for the economy to rebound.
  4. Finally, SCRD has a financial literacy contingent. Because your credit score can change monthly, it is necessary to understand the formula that controls your credit score otherwise once your credit has been restored then the next month you would need to pay someone again to fix your credit again. Using the SCRD approach, once your credit has been restored or enhanced, you are taught the formula that controls the score so that your score will increase over time. You will always be able to maintain your current scoring level. This credit maintenance is one of the biggest differences between credit repair and SCRD.
